MATTEI, Luz Maria (Ortiz)- Of Chelsea, January 10th. Devoted mother of Angel Arrieta and his wife Maribel of Chelsea, Inez Arrieta of Chelsea, David Hernandez and his wife Vilmaries of Saugus and Barbara Martinez and her husband Daniel of Detroit, Michigan. Daughter of the late Candido and Ursula (Solis) Ortiz. Beloved sister of Cornelia Ortiz of East Boston, Julia Martell of Chelsea and the late Patricio Ortiz, George Ortiz and Jose A. Ortiz. Cherished grandmother of Angie Garcia, Michael Lovejoy, Lisamarie Marmolejos, Elijah Pagan, Robert Jordan Arrieta, David Jonathan Hernandez, Jayden Pagan, Nina Martinez, Briana Hernandez and Christian Hernandez. Also lovingly survived by her great grandchildren, Fernando Arevalo, Landon Zanghi, Evan Lovejoy, Mateo Sebastian Garcia and Jaylen Elijah Spellman Pagan as well as many nieces and nephews. Friends are kindly invited to attend Visitation in the Smith Funeral Home, 125 Washington Avenue, Chelsea on Thursday, January 14th from 10 AM until 12 Noon. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, all other services will be private. 

Those attending are reminded that Covid-19 precautions are in place. All visitors are reminded to wear facial coverings, practice social distancing and are asked to enter the Funeral Home, pay their respects and then exit for additional guests to enter. Contact tracing as well as temperatures will be taken. Those showing any signs as well as temperatures of 100 degrees will not be allowed to enter.
