SMITH- Of Chelsea, unexpectedly, February 22nd, Christopher L. Devoted life long companion for over 35 years of Cynthia Velleca. Beloved father of Zach, Ethan and Hailey Smith all of Chelsea. Brother of Bill, Danny, Alex, Eric, Connie and Virginia Smith. Also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend his Celebration of Life in the Smith Funeral Home, 125 Washington Avenue, Chelsea on Saturday, March 5th from 3-5 PM. Committal Services will be private. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Chris's name be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Diabetes Foundation at the addresses listed below.

Born in Hardwick, Vermont 61 years ago, Christopher passed away unexpectedly at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after suffering a cardiac event at work. For over 5 years he was employed as the maintenance supervisor at the Charlestown YMCA and previously held similar positions at the Royal Sonesta in Cambridge as well as the Midtown Hotel in Boston. When not working, he enjoyed hiking and camping.
