Beloved father of Juan Alvarez and his wife Mayte of Lynnfield and Eliana Alvarez of New York. Dear brother of Juana Garcia of Revere, Reina Garcia of Tampa, Florida, Dora Simo of Revere and the late Domingo Alvarez. Cherished grandfather of Elian Alvarez and Sophia Alvarez. Also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral from the Smith Funeral Home, 125 Washington Avenue, CHELSEA on Friday, September 20th at 8:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Rose Church, 600 Braoday, Chelsea at 10 o'clock. A businessman in Chelsea for over a quarter of a century, Armando, who was born in Las Villas, Cuba 84 years ago and passed away early Tuesday afternoon at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers where he was admitted for residence the prior day as his illness progressed and needed additional supportive care. For over twenty years he was the owner of Essex Street Market at the corner of Essex Street and Shawmut Street and then Triple A Market at the corner of Everett Avenue and Broadway.
