QUASARANO, Anna (Maglione)- A longtime resident of Chelsea, passed away at the Lighthouse Nursing Care Center Monday evening at the age of 99. She was born on July 26, 1918 in Boston to the late Giuseppe and Antonia (Mastrangelo) Maglione. Devoted wife of the late Leonard Quasarano. Beloved mother of Patricia Hazel and her late husband Robert of Harwich, Diane Cambria and her husband Frank of Saugus, Josephine Pepper and her late husband Bruce of Saugus, Christopher Quasarano and his wife Karen of Reading and Linda Quasarano of Chelsea. Cherished grandmother of Leo Pepper and his wife Rhonda of Saugus, Joshua Pepper and his wife Melody of Saugus, Christina Kourkoulas and her husband George of Peabody, Rachel Gatta and her husband Aaron of Reading, Jeremy Pepper of Woburn and Nicholas Quasarano of Reading. Also lovingly survived by 9 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Sister of the late Edward, Elizabeth, Madelyn, Frank, Genaro, Dorathea, Ernest and Angela. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Rose Church, 600 Broadway, Chelsea on Monday, January 8th at 10 o'clock. Those attending, please meet directly at church. Visiting Hours in the Smith Funeral Home, 125 Washington Avenue, Chelsea on Sunday from 2-4 PM. Services will conclude with entombment at the Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Lighthouse Nursing Care Center, Patient Activities Account, 204 Proctor Avenue, Revere, MA 02150.
Prior to her retirement from John Hancock Insurance Company, Anna worked in the garment industry for many years as a hand sewing finisher for a Boston men's designer wear company. Anna was a member of the Chelsea Senior Center where she enjoyed knitting for her family and friends.
