Bernice Dunn Obituary

Bernice Ann "Neecy" Dunn, of Saugus, born in Charlestown and formerly of Chelsea, April 19th. Devoted wife of the late Joseph Dunn. Beloved mother of John Dunn (Rallou) of Topsfield, Bernice Orlandello (Joe) of Revere, James Dunn & Timothy Dunn of Chelsea, Patrick Dunn (Denise) of Atlanta, GA, Ann Quinlan (Jim) of Boxford and the late Joseph, Grace and Christine Dunn. Dear and loving sister of Frank & Jim Williams of Michigan, Jay Carney of Saugus, Paul Carney of Middleton, and the late Edna Broyles, Peggy Butler, Grace Watson, Hank & Leo Williams and Carol Harrison. Also lovingly survived by 22 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren with 1 on the way, as well as many nieces and nephews. Many thanks to all her caregivers especially Brenda Canelas. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours in the Smith Funeral Home, 125 Washington Ave, CHELSEA on Friday, April 26th from 9:30-10:30 AM.  A Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Rose Church, 600 Broadway, CHELSEA at 11 o'clock. Services will conclude with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Late retired school employee of the City of Chelsea. Member of the Saugus American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Blessed Sacrament Ladies Sodality and the Saugus Senior Center. Neecy loved to crotchet, travel and drink Salada tea but most of all she loved her family.

In lieu of flowers, the family would be honored if you’d share a joke with friends or make some amends, enjoy a cuppa tea and plant some flowers for all to see. Spread kindness and joy when you can, knit or crotchet someone an afghan.  Just as Neecy did for those around her, make someone’s life a little brighter every day. Two organizations dear to her heart were Wounded Warrior Projects and St. Jude if you would like to make a donation.
