ALEC BOTKA, of Chelsea, was 98 and passed away peacefully at the Soldiers Home in Chelsea on March 23rd, 2021. Alec was the devoted son of the late Frank and Anna (Skida) Botka. Beloved brother of the late Anna Botka, John Botka, Frank Botka, Peter Botka, Stella Badowski, Jennie Walczak, Walter Botka and Julia Ciulla. Alec is lovingly survived by his many nieces and nephews. He was lovingly cared for by the staff at the Soldiers Home for the past ten years. Friends and family are kindly invited to attend visitation at the Smith Funeral Home, 125 Washington Avenue, Chelsea, on Friday, March 26th, from 10:00 a.m. -11:30 a.m. Services will conclude with military funeral honors at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
Those attending are reminded that all current Covid-19 protocols are in place, face coverings are required, social distancing maintained, contact tracing taken and those attending are asked to enter, pay their respects and condolences and exit the funeral home to allow others to enter.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests the memorial contributions in Alec's name be made to the Chelsea Soldiers Home, Patient Activity Fund, 91 Crest Avenue, Chelsea, MA 02150
A resident of Chelsea his entire life, Alec was a World War II Veteran proudly serving his country. He worked in the steel industry for over 25 years until his retirement. Alec was a friend to all.
